Margareta de Heer (1600-1665) gouache/gum arabic on vellum

Artworks can be valued for the purposes of giving an indication of value at auction, insurance value or replacement value. You can send a digital photograph by e-mail to info@joannahofft.nl stating the name of the artist (if known, and otherwise a suggestion of who the artist might be), the possible signature, the material used (wooden panel/canvas/copper/paper) and the dimensions of the artwork (height x width in cm) without frame. Provision of all known provenance details will speed up the process.

In addition to using our own expertise, we will discuss the artworks where possible with a number of independent experts within the world of art history and carry out research into the works at the Rijksinstituut voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie (Netherlands Institute for Art History) in The Hague, via the Art Loss Register and using various search engines to establish any sale prices of the work in the past.

This work is charged for at an hourly rate plus VAT costs and travel expenses. You will then receive a full report with description, digital reproduction, various valuations and, if required, advice on restoration.
In addition, a proposal for internal sale can also be provided.
